Draft Stillwater Parks Master Plan

Public Comment

The City of Stillwater is developing a Park System Plan that will help to guide investments in the City's park system for the next 10 to 20 years. Based on park system analysis, staff and stakeholder meetings and community engagement, the consulting team has assembled a summary of existing conditions and potential needs, developed a vision and guiding principles, and drafted system-wide and individual park recommendations that are now ready for public review.  An Implementation chapter will follow once priority projects and phasing are determined.

  • The "Introduction" chapter takes a high-level look at the importance of planning efforts, relevant past projects, how chapters are organized, and the project timeline.
  • The "Existing Conditions" chapter summarizes Stillwater demographics and provides a detailed inventory of the park system today.
  • The "Needs Assessment" chapter analyzes current recreational trends, summarizes what we heard during the community engagement process (phase 1), and highlights key takeaways.
  • The "System Plan" chapter begins with the vision and guiding principles, provides recommendations for the park system as a whole, and details recommendations for each individual park or open space within the park system.

Each chapter can be found on a separate 'tab' of the drop-down menu if you'd like to navigate to a specific section.

Instructions:

  • Use the scroll bar on the right-hand side of the display, or the arrow buttons at the top of the document to browse page-by-page.  Each chapter has a single page followed by a series of spreads.  Its recommended that you use the 'fit to width' button in the scroll bar to view both pages at once, or download the document for easier navigation and viewing.
  • You can zoom in and out with the + and - buttons on the right hand side of the display under the scroll bar.
  • Click anywhere on the document to leave a comment. You can also see what others have said about the plan (note that others will also see your comments!).
  • The download button at the top of the display will save a PDF file to your personal device.

The draft document will be available for public review until April 8th, and comments will be considered by staff for inclusion in the final plan. We look forward to hearing from you!
